What is the Dashboard?
The Dashboard is the first screen you see when you open TradingPlan. It's a customisable collection of widgets — cards that show different parts of your trading plan at a glance.
You choose which widgets are visible and in what order. Every trader uses the app differently, so there's no default "correct" layout.
Opening the Customise Panel
Tap the slider icon (three horizontal lines with adjustment handles) in the top-right corner of the Dashboard.
The customise panel opens and shows two lists:
- Visible Widgets — currently on your Dashboard, in the order they appear
- Hidden Widgets — available but not currently shown
Adding a Widget
In the customise panel, find the widget you want in the Hidden section and tap the + button (or drag it to the Visible list). It will appear at the bottom of your Dashboard.
Removing a Widget
In the customise panel, find the widget in the Visible list and tap the – button (or drag it to the Hidden list). It disappears from the Dashboard but is not deleted — you can add it back any time.
Reordering Widgets
In the customise panel, tap Edit or use the drag handles (☰) next to each widget to reorder them. The order in the customise panel matches the order on your Dashboard.
Available Widgets
| Widget | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Welcome | A greeting and quick-access links to key sections |
| Motivational Quote | A random trading quote. Tap the refresh icon for a new one |
| Strategies | Your included strategies with quick access to start a flow |
| Strategy Schedule | Today's strategy schedule if you've configured session times |
| Routine | A daily task list of scheduled and in-progress routines, with quick access to start or continue a flow |
| Trader Philosophy | A summary of your philosophy choices |
| Trader Mindset | Your mindset notes |
| Custom Note | A freeform note widget — write anything you want here |
The Custom Note Widget
The Custom Note widget is a freeform card you can put anything in — a personal reminder, your current trading focus, a rule you're working to internalise, or anything else you want visible on your Dashboard every day.
Tap the widget to edit the note. Changes save automatically.
Dashboard Layout on iPad and Mac
On iPad (landscape) and Mac, the Dashboard uses a multi-column grid that fills the available width. Widgets automatically arrange into columns based on screen width. The customise panel still controls which widgets are visible and their relative order within the grid.
Resetting to Default
There's no one-tap "reset to default" option. If you want to restore the default widget set, open the customise panel and manually add/remove widgets until your preferred set is showing.
Widget Preferences Sync
Your Dashboard widget preferences sync across devices via iCloud. If you customise the layout on your iPhone, the same layout will appear on your iPad and Mac.
