Including Strategies in Your Plan

What Does "Include in Plan" Mean?

Every strategy you create starts as excluded — it exists in your library but isn't part of your active trading plan. To make a strategy active and visible in the rest of the app, you include it in your plan.

Included strategies:

• Appear on the Dashboard in the Strategies widget
• Are pinned in the sidebar on iPad and Mac for quick access
• Are available in the Plan Builder and Trade Plan document view
• Show their schedule in the Strategy Schedule widget (if a schedule is set)
• Count towards your plan when you generate a plan document

Excluded strategies:

• Still exist and are fully editable
• Won't appear in the dashboard or sidebar
• Are marked "EXCLUDED" in the strategy list
• Are useful for strategies in development, retired setups, or experimental rules

How to Include or Exclude a Strategy

From the Strategy List

• Tap the star icon to the left of the strategy name to toggle inclusion
• A gold star = included in plan
• An outline star = excluded

Using Swipe Actions (iPhone)

• Swipe right on any strategy in the list
• Tap Include or Exclude

Using the Context Menu (iPad / Mac)

• Long-press or right-click a strategy in the list
• Select Include in Plan or Exclude from Plan

My Dashboard Widget Isn't Showing My Strategy

The Strategies widget on the Dashboard only shows strategies that are included in your plan. If your strategy doesn't appear there:

1. Go to Strategies
2. Check whether the strategy has a gold star — if it shows an outline star or "EXCLUDED", it's not included
3. Tap the star to include it

The Strategy Isn't in the Sidebar (iPad/Mac)

On iPad and Mac, only included strategies appear in the sidebar. The same fix applies: go to the Strategies tab and make sure the strategy is starred.

Can I Include Multiple Strategies?

Yes — you can include as many strategies as you like. There's no limit on how many can be included simultaneously.

If you're on the free plan, you're limited to one strategy total, so inclusion applies to that one strategy. Upgrading to Pro removes the strategy limit.

Should I Include Strategies I'm Still Building?

That's up to you. Many traders keep in-development strategies excluded until the rules are solid, then include them once they're confident. This keeps the dashboard and plan clean and focused on strategies you're actually trading.
