The Five Main Sections

TradingPlan is organised into five main areas, accessible from the tab bar at the bottom of the screen (iPhone) or the sidebar (iPad and Mac).

Dashboard

Your personalised home screen. Shows a collection of widgets you choose — strategies, routines, mindset, philosophy, quotes, and more. This is the screen you'll likely land on most often.

Trade Plan

Your complete trading plan in document form. Tap any section to view and edit:

  • Philosophy — your beliefs, analytical approach, and trading style
  • Risk Management — position sizing and drawdown rules
  • Mindset — psychological anchors and mental game notes
  • Your Why — your motivation for trading
  • Routines — your session checklists
  • Business Notes — ongoing log of key observations

Plan Builder

A guided, step-by-step mode for building or reviewing your complete plan. Useful when you're starting out or doing a full review.

Strategies

Your library of trading strategies. Tap any strategy to view or edit its rules. Tap the star on a strategy to include it in your active plan.

Profile

Account settings, subscription status, notifications, security (biometrics), and support links.

iPhone Layout

On iPhone, the five sections appear as tabs along the bottom of the screen. Tap to switch between them. When you're inside a section and navigate deeper (e.g. into a strategy editor), a Back button appears in the top-left corner to return.

iPad & Mac Layout

On iPad in landscape, and on Mac, TradingPlan uses a sidebar layout. The five main sections appear as items in a collapsible sidebar on the left. You can hide the sidebar by tapping the sidebar toggle button in the toolbar.

Pinned items: On iPad and Mac, strategies you've starred (included in your plan) and routines you've marked as active appear as quick-access items directly in the sidebar, below the main navigation items. This lets you jump straight to your working strategies without navigating to the Strategies tab first.

The Trade Plan Tab (Mobile)

On iPhone, the Trade Plan tab shows your plan sections as a scrollable list. Tap any section row to open it. The toolbar at the top has a View Plan button that shows your entire trading plan as a single formatted document — useful for reviewing everything at once.

On Mac, the View Trading Plan button appears at the bottom of the sidebar.

Editing and Saving

Most plan sections have a Save button in the top-right corner. Changes are not saved until you tap Save. If you go back without saving, you'll see an "Unsaved Changes" alert giving you the option to discard or keep editing.

Search

In the Strategies section, a search bar appears at the top of the list. Type to filter your strategies by name. On Mac, the search bar sits in the toolbar.

Toolbar Actions

The small icons in the top-right corner of most screens give you quick access to additional actions:

  • Bell icon (Dashboard) — view updates and release notes. A red dot means there are unread updates
  • Slider icon (Dashboard) — customise your dashboard widgets
  • Reorder icon (Strategies list) — enable drag-to-reorder for your strategies

Quick Tip: Handoff

If you use iCloud across devices, TradingPlan supports Handoff. Start viewing your strategy on iPhone and pick up exactly where you left off on Mac — or vice versa. Look for the TradingPlan icon in the App Switcher or Dock when switching devices.
