Why Sign In With Apple?
TradingPlan uses Sign In With Apple as the only authentication method. This was a deliberate choice:
- Privacy first — Apple's system is designed to share the minimum possible information
- No password to remember or lose — authentication uses your Apple ID credentials and biometrics
- Secure by default — Apple handles identity verification; TradingPlan never stores your password
- Works across all your devices — the same sign-in works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac
What Information Does Apple Share?
When you sign in for the first time, Apple offers to share your name and email. You can choose to hide your email (Apple provides a relay address instead) or share it.
TradingPlan uses:
- Your Apple ID user identifier — a unique, anonymous ID that identifies you without revealing personal information
- Your display name — used for the greeting in the app ("Good morning, Stuart")
TradingPlan does not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
Signing In on a New Device
Your data syncs via iCloud. When you sign in on a new iPhone, iPad, or Mac with the same Apple ID:
- Install TradingPlan
- Open the app
- Tap Sign In With Apple
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
Your entire plan — strategies, routines, philosophy, risk rules, notes — syncs automatically within a few minutes of signing in.
Can I Use a Different Apple ID?
Data is tied to your Apple ID. If you sign in with a different Apple ID, you'll see a separate, empty plan — your original data will still exist on the original Apple ID and will sync back when you sign in with that ID.

Signing Out
To sign out of TradingPlan:
- Go to Profile
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap Sign Out
Your data is not deleted when you sign out. It remains in iCloud, attached to your Apple ID, and will sync back when you sign in again.
Deleting Your Account
To permanently delete your TradingPlan account and all associated data:
- Go to Profile → Help & Feedback
- Tap Delete Account
This removes all your data from TradingPlan's iCloud container. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
