Using TradingPlan on Multiple Devices

TradingPlan Works on iPhone, iPad, and Mac

One subscription (or free plan) covers all your devices. There's no separate purchase for Mac or iPad. Sign in with the same Apple ID everywhere and your entire plan syncs automatically.

Setting Up a Second Device

1. Download TradingPlan from the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Mac App Store (Mac)
2. Open the app
3. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used on your first device
4. Your data will begin syncing within a few minutes

That's it. No export, no import, no manual transfer needed.

iPhone

The iPhone version uses a tab bar at the bottom for navigation. The layout is optimised for single-column portrait use, making it ideal for quick access to your plan while at your desk or on the go.

Best uses on iPhone:

• Running strategy flows and routine flows at your trading desk
• Checking your plan on the go
• Quick dashboard glance before a session
• Reference for your philosophy and risk rules mid-session

iPad

The iPad version adapts based on screen size and orientation:

• Portrait / smaller iPad: similar to iPhone layout with tab bar
• Landscape / larger iPad: switches to the sidebar layout, showing more content in a two or three-column grid

Best uses on iPad:

• Full plan editing in a comfortable layout
• Running flows alongside your trading platform
• Extended strategy building sessions
• Dashboard as a secondary screen during trading

Pinned strategies and active routines appear in the sidebar for quick access.

Mac

The Mac version uses the sidebar layout permanently. Additional features on Mac:

• View Trading Plan button at the bottom of the sidebar — shows your full plan as a formatted document
• Keyboard shortcuts — press ⌘N to create a new strategy
• Full multi-window support
• Spotlight integration — search your strategies by name from macOS Spotlight

Best uses on Mac:

• Primary plan-building environment (keyboard makes editing much faster)
• Side-by-side with your trading platform
• Detailed strategy rule writing
• Extended plan reviews and updates

Handoff Between Devices

TradingPlan supports macOS/iOS Handoff. If you're editing your strategy on iPhone and switch to Mac, the Handoff icon appears in the Mac Dock — click it to jump straight to the same strategy.

One Plan, All Devices

Your plan is the same everywhere. Changes you make on one device sync to all your others. There's no "iPhone version" and "Mac version" — it's one plan, seamlessly available on every device.

Sync Delay

After making a change, allow a few minutes for it to sync to other devices. If you made a change and it isn't appearing on another device after 5 minutes:

• Check both devices have an internet connection
• Check iCloud is enabled for TradingPlan on both devices (Settings → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud on iPhone/iPad; System Settings → iCloud on Mac)
